The Tacoma offers innovative Crawl Control. The throttle and brakes are automatically adjusted between five low-speed settings to help you focus on navigating across sand, mud, or other challenging terrain.

The F-150 is available with a similar feature known as Trail Control™.

The Tacoma also has a ground clearance of 9.4 inches across the board. Regardless of the trim level you select, you’ll have the height needed for steep inclines and bumpy roads. Adding to that, the undercarriage of the vehicle will be protected thanks to the available TRD Pro skid plate.

The F-150 offers comparable off-roading features for all types of excursions. However, if you’re hitting the trails in its base configuration, you’ll only have 8.7 inches of ground clearance to work with—watch out for that rock!

What about amenities in the truck bed? These trucks offer plenty. The insulated storage bins, however, are only available with the Tacoma. Pack them with ice to keep your drinks cold during a long ride or an even longer tailgate. They’re integrated into the bed, so they can easily double as a toolbox during the work week.

The Tacoma also comes standard with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. You set a specific following distance ahead of time, and the system will maintain it, regardless of how fast or slow traffic moves.

The similar Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control of the F-150 is only available with higher trim levels.
